Head out early morning for a field visit to the majestic ruins of the Polonnaruwa when the primates rule the kingdom before tourist gates open. Follow your field assistant in search of the purple faced leaf monkeys and the larger troops of grey langurs. You can watch as the toque macaques start their day feeding, playing and grooming each other. As you venture into forest areas, you may even see deer grazing in the underbrush. This would be a treat for bird lovers as well.

**We ask that all guests taking part in these tours to wear and carry the following: hat or cap, long sleeved shirts, long pants and shoes or boots, some insect repellent and water bottles. Bring your cameras but please do not use the flash for photography as that might aggravate the adult males. Please listen to your field assistants and respect the boundaries of the primates at all times. These animals are not tame or trained and we ask you not to approach or touch them at all.
