Batik is a process of masking fabrics with layers of wax and dying them in multiple colors to create vivid artworks. Batik can be seen in many forms in Sri Lanka and finished products range from ornate wall hangings to clothing to table decor.

Today you will have the rare opportunity to visit the batik workshop. The women who work here carry on the artform and in turn have a steady livelihood thanks to the income generated from the sale of their creations. You will have a chance to get hands on under the guidance of one of the batik artists and learn the techniques first hand. Thereafter end the visit with a delicious rice and curry lunch.
