The art of preparing Cinnamon quills is a unique age old tradition which requires a high degree of focus, patience and strength. Cinnamon originated in the hill country, however today majority of the Cinnamon farms are located along the coastal belt and could be commonly found in the Matara and Ambalangoda areas.

Visiting a Cinnamon Estate will be an activity you will only be able to experience in Sri Lanka. You will first get the opportunity to travel around the estate to see the cinnamon plants, thereafter you will be able to observe how Cinnamon peeling is done in order to prepare Cinnamon Quills.

You will also get the opportunity to learn about the different grades of Cinnamon Quills based on the precision and quality of the quills prepared. Those who would like to peel Cinnamon are welcome to try it out themselves under the guidance of one of our master Cinnamon peelers.

At the end of the session you can also indulge in some unique products that have been prepared using Cinnamon including herbal teas, lotions and many other innovations that have been introduced to the market by local entrepreneurs using our very own Ceylon Cinnamon.
