Arrive and transfer to Mirissa
On arrival in Colombo you will be met by your guide. You will travel to Mirissa where you will get an opportunity to relax in picturesque beaches and indulge in many activities. Upon arriving in Mirrissa you can make your way to the beach to enjoy the beautiful sunset as you relax at the beach. Explore the local neighborhood that has many lovely restaurants and pubs. Top your beach experience by dining at a cozy seafood restaurant.
Whale Watching
Spend the morning whale watching by boat from Mirissa harbor (which leaves at 6.30 a.m) where it is possible to see the great blue whale, the largest mammal on earth. Whales and dolphins are most frequently seen from November to early April. After Lunch leave Mirissa and drive to the coastal city of Galle. Once the chief port of British Ceylon, today the city of Galle is divided into two parts—the modern, bustling centre and the historic, colonial fort. The charming old town was visited by Ibn Batuta during the 14th century and was subsequently controlled by the Portuguese, Dutch and British who finally captured the city in 1796.
Explore the Kanneliya Rainforest
After Breakfast visit a scenic rainforest in Kanneliya filled with beautiful treks, natural waterways and springs. Leave Kanneliya post lunch to Colombo, the Sri Lankan capital began as a Portuguese trading outpost. Over the centuries the city developed under both the Dutch and British to become Sri Lanka’s main commercial hub and today is home to numerous colonial buildings and bazaars. End your relaxing weekend enjoying some delicious Sri Lankan Crabs at a restaurant in Colombo. Based on your flight schedule you could opt to leave in the night or stay an extra night and travel back the next morning.
